Breaking: An Express Entry draw for CEC candidates has just taken place … Canada Immigration

Express Entry draw figures for the August 19 draw are below.

The August 19 Express Entry draw was restricted to candidates in the Canadian Experience Class (CEC). In the August 19 Express Entry draw for immigration to Canada, 3,000 candidates will be issued an Invitation to Apply (ITA). The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score cut-off threshold for this draw was 403 points. The tie-breaking rule for this draw was applied to profiles at 403 points submitted after August 01, 2021 at 10:13:57 UTC.

As the delta variant threatens pandemic progress, Express Entry approach remains uncertain

In recent months, Canada has become a global leader in COVID-19 vaccination, allowing some pandemic restrictions to ease and borders to begin to open. However, in recent weeks, COVID-19 case counts have started to rise across Canada, largely attributable to the highly contagious delta variant. Despite the rise in cases, Canada’s borders are still expected to open to fully vaccinated travellers from all countries as of September 7.

But, what does the fourth wave mean for Express Entry?

While many candidates in the Federal Skilled Worker program — who have been excluded from all draws in 2021 — had been hoping that with borders re-opening, FSW draws would resume, the delta variant has introduced more uncertainty. It is possible that FSW could resume at any time, but with rising case counts the country could choose to continue prioritizing in-Canada candidates until the fourth wave is under control.

Only time will tell what’s in store for Express Entry for the rest of 2021. If and when there is an update, you can trust that it will be posted here.
