On August 7, British Columbia issued invitations to Skilled Worker and International Graduate candidates.

British Columbia issued invitations to apply for a provincial nomination for permanent residence to Skills Immigration and Express Entry BC candidates on August 7.

A total of 437 invitations were issued in the Skilled Worker, International Graduate, and Entry Level and Semi-Skilled Worker categories of the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP).

The minimum scores for this draw varied depending on the subcategory and ranged between 76 and 98 points.

The two subcategories included in the draw under the Express Entry BC stream and their respective scores were:

• Skilled Worker, which required a provincial score of 97.
• International Graduate, which required a provincial score of 98.

Express Entry BC categories are open to immigration candidates with a profile in the federal Express Entry system, which manages the pool of candidates for Canada’s three federal skilled immigration programs—the Federal Skilled Worker Program, Federal Skilled Trades Program and Canadian Experience Class.

Express Entry candidates who apply for and receive a provincial nomination for permanent residence receive an additional 600 points toward their Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score and are effectively guaranteed to receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for Canadian permanent residence in a federal Express Entry draw.

The three subcategories included under the Skills Immigration stream and their respective scores were:

• Skilled Worker, which required a provincial score of 97;
• International Graduate, which required a provincial score of 98; and
• Entry-Level and Semi-skilled, which required a provincial score of 76.

Candidates in the Skilled Worker, Entry Level and Semi-Skilled, and International Graduate categories are required to register with the BC PNP Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS) after completing a profile with the BC PNP’s online system.

SIRS is a points-based system used by the BC PNP to evaluate candidates based on factors such as education, work experience and proficiency in English and French.

All invited Skills Immigration and Express Entry candidates must have an indeterminate, full-time job offer with an employer in B.C.
