Canada has held the 160th Express Entry Draw since the introduction of the Express Entry Program in January 2015. In the latest Express Entry Draw held on August 19, 2020, a total of 600 invitations were issued. Moreover, the invited candidates needed a provincial nomination certificate from a PNP (Provincial Nominee Program) in order to get selected under the latest draw.
Those with the provincial nomination certificate from a particular province get 600additional points. These 600 points automatically amps up your CRS score and ease the entire process of Canada’s Permanent Residence. Today’s draw was the third draw held in the month of August under which the CRS score of the lowest-ranked candidate was 771 i.e. In order to get an ITA, an applicant needed a CRS score of 771 or more than that.
In the previous draw held on August 6, 2020, a total of 250 Federal Skilled Trades Program candidates received an ITA (Invitation to apply) to apply for Canada’s Permanent Residence. The CRS score of the lowest-ranked candidates who were invited under the FSTP draw held previously was 415 which means the candidate needs to score 415 or more than that in order to receive an ITA from the IRCC (Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada).
The day before the previous draw i.e. on August 5, 2020, the IRCC held an all-program Express Entry Draw under which 3900 invitations were issued to the candidates who were having the CRS score of at least 476.
It is no surprise that Canada is still open to issuing invitations despite the wreaking havoc created by the coronavirus. As far as 2020 is concerned, a total of 62,450 ITA’s were issued by the IRCC.
A tie-breaking rule was applied as per this draw which says that the candidates who applied under the PNP via Express Entry program prior to July 24, 2020 at 11:39:23 UTC received the ITA’s in the latest Express Entry Draw.
