The province of British Columbia has issued 320 invitations to Express Entry BC (EEBC) and Skilled Immigration (SI) candidates in its latest Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draw held July 14.
The Express Entry BC stream is one of many provincial programs across the country aligned with the federal government’s Express Entry system.
The Express Entry system is used by the federal government to manage permanent residence applications through the three main economic programs: Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), Federal Skilled Trades Class (FSTC) and Canadian Experience Class (CEC).
Many provinces also use the system to manage their own applications for provincial nomination.
Express Entry candidates who receive a provincial nomination are given an additional 600 Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points, practically guaranteeing an invitation to apply for permanent residence in a subsequent Express Entry draw.
As for the Skills Immigration stream, candidates were invited through the stream’s Skilled Worker, International Graduate and Entry Level and Semi-Skilled categories.
The minimum required provincial points in today’s draw ranged between 76 and 98, depending on the category.
The minimum scores for each of the categories were as follows:
- SI – Skilled Worker: 98
- SI – International Graduate: 98
- SI – Entry Level and Semi-Skilled: 76
- EEBC – Skilled Worker: 98
- EEBC – International Graduate: 98
Candidates interested in applying through the Express Entry BC stream must have a federal Express Entry profile as well as register in the province’s Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS).
Candidates interested in applying through the Skills Immigration stream must only be registered in the SIRS.
