SKILLS ASSESSMENT CRITERIA UPDATE – EFFECTIVE 20 JULY, 2018

 

On 20 July, 2018 VETASSESS will be updating the assessment criteria for the occupation of Occupational Health and Safety Adviser (ANZSCO Code 251312). The revised criteria are based on industry research and engagement, and strengthens the alignment with current occupational standards in Australia.

All new skills assessment applications for Occupational Health and Safety Adviser (ANZSCO Code 251312) submitted on or after 20 July, 2018 will be assessed under the new criteria. View More

What are the key changes?
To meet the revised requirements applicants will need either:
  • A degree (relevant) plus ≥ 1 year of skilled employment undertaken in last 5 years
  • A degree (not relevant) plus at least AQF Diploma (relevant) plus ≥ 3 years of skilled employment in last 5 years

What does this mean for existing applications?
Pending applications lodged prior to the date of change will continue to be assessed under the old criteria.
Reassessment requests (review of negative outcome) for the occupation of Occupational Health and Safety Adviser lodged within 90 days of the issue of the original assessment will be reviewed under the criteria applicable at the time of the original assessment.

The new skills assessment criteria including the Information Sheet for this occupation will be published on the Nominate an Occupation page of the VETASSESS website on 20 July, 2018.
